A short (newspaper) history of the village hall


Biggleswade Chronicle - Friday 24 January 1936

Our little shop is in the premises of the old village hall, it was built by Sir James Hill, Baronet and Lady Hill, and according to the plaque on the hall, the clock was added in 1935 to celebrate their diamond wedding.

Sir James moved into the Manor in the summer of 1918...

During the war a potential crisis was averted....
